What is "A Gathering of the Laity"?

"A Gathering of the Laity" is an annual spiritual retreat and renewal conference, sponsored by the Board of Laity of the Western NC Conference of the United Methodist Church.  The weekend includes a variety of outstanding speakers and music through worship services and plenary sessions designed to re-energize your spirit and encourage you in your faith journey. 

In addition, this conference provides an opportunity for us to recognize and honor the outstanding work of the laity in the local United Methodist Churches throughout the Western North Carolina Conference.

Must I attend a United Methodist Church to attend "A Gathering of the Laity"?

"The Gathering" is open to everyone!  We invite you to join us regardless of your faith affiliation, and trust that you will find the the weekend uplifting and encouraging.

Are there other activities in the area that I may enjoy?
